Home Inspection Cost
A thorough home inspection, with proper followup and communication, is crucial. One major defect missed by a rushed, cut-rate inspector can cost you many thousands of dollars later. But even the best inspection can’t help you without an understandable inspection report and good communication.
Home inspection is a “you get what you pay for” industry. Lower-fee home inspectors are often newer, less experienced, or prioritize the number of inspections they perform over quality. You’re paying for an inspector’s expertise and knowledge.
If you’re looking for the lowest-cost home inspection, reconsider. When needing an attorney or physician, nobody seeks the cheapest. They seek the best.
Integra prioritizes a comprehensive, detailed inspection and thorough communications with clients through our unique post-inspection review process.
A home purchase is often the largest financial decision of one’s life. With real estate agents charging 6% of the sale price, and appraisers often charging $500-$800 or more, a home inspection provides the most important and best value of any of the services involved in a real estate transaction. It’s not unusual for a home inspection to save a buyer several thousand dollars in repair costs. A good inspection can even steer you clear of a “money pit” that could drain your resources and take years to resolve. Even in newer homes, a thorough inspection can identify areas of concern that could be costly in the future if not addressed early on.
Integra’s residential inspection fees are calculated on the estimated time required to inspect the home. This is based upon the home’s age, size, and condition. Larger and older homes (pre-2000) cost more as they require more time and care to inspect. Newly-constructed homes cost the least.
The inspection fee covers the time and expertise to inspect the property, research any unusual findings, write and publish a detailed report, and confer with clients and agents during the review process.
No inspector is perfect, and every inspector (including Integra) will overlook something during the inspection. Better your odds with an experienced inspector that spends more time on the inspection and prioritizes quality.
We accept credit & debit cards, bank transfer, Zelle, check, and more. We also offer a “buy now, pay later” option.

Home Inspection Cost
The bottom line: if you’re looking for the lowest-cost inspection, we’re not your answer. We strive to provide a higher quality inspection than average, and we charge accordingly. Read on why you should be finding the most expensive inspector, not the least expensive.
A home inspection is one of several professional services you will need when purchasing a home. An appraisal, survey, termite bond, and other inspections (septic, etc.) are commonly encountered.
Integra’s residential inspection fees are based on the home’s square footage and age. Larger and older homes cost more as they require more time and care to inspect. Newly-constructed homes cost the least.
The inspection fee covers the time and expertise to inspect the property, write and publish a detailed report, research any unusual findings, and confer with clients and agents. Of these, the inspector’s knowledge and experience are the most valuable.
The fee for a quality home inspection is usually greater than or similar to an appraisal.
When considering home inspection cost, it’s worth remembering you get what you pay for. Will the inspector that charges less but does 90-minute cursory inspections catch all the problems? Climb the roof and crawl the crawlspace? Some lower-fee inspectors are newer and less experienced or work in a team. Both of these situations can result in a lower-quality inspection for you.
People with a medical or legal issue don’t look for the lowest-fee medical or legal professional; they search for the best they can find. Wouldn’t you do the same for your largest asset: your home?
